Twelve high school youth from Port Townsend are off to work in the Olympic National Forest near Quilcene, Washington. Led by crew chiefs Andi Niesen and Marcelle Thimgan, 4-H members are gaining employable skills while spending the workday in a beautiful forest environment. Teens are scheduled to work six Saturdays this fall, clearing brush, widening trails, installing stair treads and posts, restoring salmon habitat and more, all the while working under the supervision of U.S.F.S. staff.
