What we did: We
interduced each other and did some challenges.
Challenge
course:
The first thing we
did was,"The name gane",which was a game of catch, in which, you state your name
when you catch the ball and state the name of the person you pass it to. then
we had to construct a moving "marble run"that extended about 30 feet. One of
the high-lights of this day was making team rules ,and writing them on a loop of
white cloth,which a different one of us would take home each week.
Review: I had alot
of fun and I think that we will be a good team

Supplies:A soft
object,that can be throwen.
Rules:Say your name
and the name of the person you are passing the object to. the object is passed
around the circle 2-3 times.
Reflections:I am
starting to remember some names and use them.
Activity:Hackie
sack

Supplies:1 Hackie
sack
Rules:try to keep
the hackie sack in the air ,without using your feet.
Reflections:some of
us had a harder time hitting the hackie sack, than others,but, it seemed like we
all had fun.
Activity: who's the
leader
Date:September

Supplies: none
Rules: sit in a
circle so that everyone can see each other.
One person is the
detective.
That person leaves
the circle and looks away and covers thier ears.
Another person is
the leader.
The object is for
every one to copy the leader.
Start befor the
detective gets back.
The detective must
try to guess who the leader is he/she has 1 minute or three gusses whichever
comes first.
Reflections:
Reflections for the
15th
I think that we are
getting more comforteable with each other and i think that how we are becoming a
better family is things like people working as one big team to accomplish goals
or two teams instead of splitting off into clicks or being loners.
Questions: how did
it feel to be the leader/detective/or to have to follow the leader?
Can you think of a
time of when you were a leader?
As a detective did
you find it hard to figure out who the leader was? Why?

Activity: toss

Supplies: a soft
throwable object for each person.
Rules: everybody
throws thier object in the air , claps once and catches it the second time we
clap twice, the third time we touch our knee, fourth time we spin around,5we
pass the object to our left,6th time to the right,7 we pass our object to the
person across from us in the circle,9 do a dance and catch the object 10,throw
the object in the air and throw our arms in the air,yell "hey ho way to go!"
then we count to 10 in order no one can say tow numbers in a row and if two
people say a number at the same time we start over.
When someone says
one for example we do the first thing in the pattern two the second and do
on.
Questions: did you
feel self-conscious when you dropped the object? Why? Why not?
How did we solve
this problem? Did we communicate in any way? How?
Activity: human
machines
Supplies: none
Rules: divide into
groups.
Each group is a
machine with moving parts and sound.
Could you make the
machine in a totally different way? How?
When have you had to
create something new?
What are some other
things that you have created using very few resources?

people
Review: dident do it
because we ran out of time.

Activity: trash time

Review: The group
understood that littering is a threat to the environment. I had them state their
names and what trash they thought they would see the most.

Activity: Recycling
talk
Review: talked about
how some things that people pay (or don't) pay for to throw out can be recycled
at no cost and that if you recycle you help save the planet. I asked them what
trash they found the most of and talked about how most of it could of been
recycled.
People to
people
1.clear an area and
have everyone stand next to their partner in a circle
2.you do not have a
partner and you are the caller if you have a odd number of people you can have a
partner be the caller
3.call out people to
people and have them repeat it back
4.then call out two
body parts hand 2 hand or elbow to knee etc
5.the partners touch
these body parts together
6.repeat with
different parts
7 .when u call out
people to people a second time they are to find a new partner.
Questions
1.did it matter who
you were partners with ?
2.was the game fun
for u why why not?
3.did you feel like
you could work/play with anyone else in the class that you would welcome them
and they would welcome you why why not?
4. What are ways for
people to connect so they have an opportunity to become friends?
