4-H Stewardship Program Leadership Camp

4-H Stewardship Program Leadership Camp

Date: June 25– June 29, 2012 (M-F)

Time: 10 am – 4 pm

Location: Northwest School of Wooden Boat Building, 42 N. Water Street, Port Hadlock, WA 98339

This 5-day training is for those 4-H Stewardship Program youth, who want to participate in a more intensive, challenging leadership experience. Our approach will be a fun, fast-paced and hands-on.

Our Philosophy:

Leadership is many things, not just the loudest.
There is a Leader in everyone.
Leadership and Teamwork go hand-in-hand.
Leadership from below is often the most effective.

Activities: All our plans for the week are hands-on and active! A large part of our time will be spent on-the-water using the Community Boat Project’s Youth Expedition Craft to build teamwork and enhance “Leader” opportunities. Ashore we will learn skills applicable for the 4-H Stewardship Program, including how to move heavy things with simple tools and good organization.

Stewardship: During the week we will not only get a chance to study and learn about our local environment, but we will do some hands-on service work.

Where: We will meet everyday at the Community Boat Building, Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding, Lower Hadlock (near Ajax Cafe). (See address above)

Bring: Lunch, snacks, warm clothes, water bottles, an open mind and willing spirit.

Registration: Limited to 8 youth leaders.
